| Captain Bed Upreti |

Captain Bed Upreti was born at Dandeldhura in the far-west of Nepal and now lives in Kathmandu. He graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru University in India and did his Master’s from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He joined the then Royal Nepal Army as an officer. Capt Upreti participated in a UN peacekeeping mission (UNPROFOR) in the former Yugoslavia. He also served as an instructor in the then Royal Nepalese Army Academy.
He is the author of over half-a-dozen books. 'The Beautiful Mountains of Nepal’ and Everest from the Air (in English, Japanese and French editions) are popular at bookstores around the country and abroad. He is presently an instructor pilot with a commercial airline.
